NewsDonbass Tour 2009
Donbass tour is a series of show jumping tournaments held at national as well as international level. The tournament was launched on May 9, 2009. So far 4 rounds and the final of the tournament have been held. Ukrainian riders of various categories participated in each round. Spectators had the opportunity to see performances both of professional riders and of young riders, and young horse riders. Donbass Tour-2009 was a great opportunity for riders to test their abilities and gain much-needed experience. The Final of Donbass Tour 2009 series was the Show Jumping World Cup CSI***-W, which took place on September 11-13, 2009. Donbass Equicentre acted as the organizer and the sponsor of the Tournament. All tournaments are official competitions where the riders can earn ranking points for the national ranking. Those entering the Show Jumping World Cup CSI***-W can gain ranking points for the FEI World Ranking List. During the first four rounds thousands of spectators of Donbass Equicentre could witness a thrilling battle between the best Ukrainian riders. The number of viewers watching the tournament on TV was much higher. For three days Megasport Channel broadcasted the competition. The Donbass Equicentre riders led the tournament. Donbass Tour ranking just before final: 1. Gregory Robin (Donbass Equicentre) 89,5 pts 2. Katharina Offel (Donbass Equicentre) 76 pts 3. Oleg Krasyuk (New League) 46,5 pts 4. Pavel Tkachenko (Donbass Equicentre) 43,6 pts 5. Igor Zhelobenko (Nikolaev riding school) 35 pts September round changed the situation dramatically. Gregory Robin had an advantage of only 13 points. The riders who had good chances to win were Cassio Rivetti, Bjorn Nagel(Ukraine), Henk Van de Pol and Piet Raymakers from Holland, Tim Hoster from Germany, Jacques Helmlinger from France, Kasper Hansen from Denmark and others. Katharina Offel became the leading rider in two days. Neither her teammate Gregory Robin nor other renowned riders could catch up with Katarina. She became the winner of Donbass Tour and won the first prize a brand new white Mazda. |
